Corvus Amateur Drama Society (CADS) is Royston's local drama group and meets regularly at Greneway School.

Paul Bainbridge: River Stort and artist

Cumbrian born sculptor and former Hertfordshire Art teacher Paul Bainbridge sculptures and drawings reflect the expertise required to have been a freelance portrait sculptor for Madame Tussaud's for twelve years.
 
 
James Dilley specialises in ancient crafts including flint-knapping and leather work.

Papillon Playgroup
Papillon Playgroup, which runs our Messy Crafts session, offers a safe and friendly environment for 2 and 3 year-olds to learn while having fun.
 
 

Priory Singers
Formed from the choir of Royston Parish Church in 2001, the Priory Singers sing music of all ages, from the 16th to 21st centuries.

 
 
The Royston Art Society is made up of nearly 100 people, most living in either Royston or the surrounding villages. They meet twice a month for practical sessions and once for professional demonstrations.

Royston Choral Society
Formed in 1974, Royston Choral Society performs a wide variety of choral music in four concerts a year, usually in Royston Parish Church.
  Royston Little Voices
Royston Little Voices is an arts group for children aged between 5 and 9 years old which aims to engage children in creative music and drama activities.

Royston Music Centre is one of the four music schools run by the Hertfordshire Music Service in North Hertfordshire. It meets on Saturday mornings at Meridian School.

Royston Photographic Society
The Photographic Society provides a forum for amateur photographers of all abilities to share their work and interests, as well as organising a variety of competitions and quizzes.
 
 
 
  Royston Town Band
Royston Town Band can proudly boast of serving the town during three centuries and is an integral part of the town's musical and social life, particularly in its encouragement of young people to take up a musical instrument.

The Writers Circle for Royston and the surrounding area (Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire) meets on the third Thursday of the month in the Committee Room at Royston Town Hall. 
 
  Stephanie Prior School of Dancing
The Stephanie Prior School of Dancing is one of the longest running dance schools in Hertfordshire, offering classes in freestyle disco, street dance, hip hop, rock'n'roll, lyrical, ballroom and Latin American styles.
 
 
Terry is a wonderful photographer who contributes many of the pictures on this website.

Robin Belfield, Yellowtale's Artistic Director, grew up in Royston and ran a workshop for the festival in 2009.

2008: Alison Balsom
Alison Balsom
We are extremely fortunate to have the world renowned trumpeter Alison Balsom as our Honorary President. Alison was brought up and educated in Royston and played at the festival in 2008. She is the first British woman to have won best female at the Classical Brit awards.
 
Richard Lambert is a composer who initiated and directed the original incarnation or Royston Arts Festival from 1982 to 1986.
 
  Angela Patchett
Hertfordshire-based Angela Patchett is the author of Angela Angel and the Magic Chair, a book for children who love fun, magic and teddy bears.
 
  Tam Lin
Folk band Tam Lin are passionate performers of music and song from the British Isles, Ireland, France and Northern Spain and you can also expect some hints of old time mountain music and maybe the odd Cajun tune or two.
 
 
Theatretrain
Theatretrain, based at Stage Right Studios in Royston, is a national group providing professional training in the performing arts for young people aged 6 - 18.
