National Theatre Director to run workshop (June 08, 2009)
|
We are very excited to welcome back Robin Belfield to lead a voice and characterisation workshop. After going to school in Royston (Icknield Walk, Greneway and Meridian), Robin read Drama at University of Bristol and then was Trainee Director on the Channel 4 Theatre Director Scheme. His work in theatre includes The Entertainer, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Duck Variations and his own play That Bahamian T’ing for The Nuffield Theatre, Southampton; A Christmas Carol, Charlotte's Web and The Twits for The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster; Trade It? and Waiting for Show of Strength Theatre Company, Bristol; and Great West Road and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow for The Watermill. Robin was Deputy Outreach Director at The Watermill Theatre and as a freelancer has worked extensively with various other Education departments and youth theatres, including Theatre Royal Bath, Bristol Old Vic, and Welsh National Opera. He is also currently Staff Director at the National Theatre.
